About The Daring Way™

The Daring Way™ is a highly experiential methodology based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown.  Throughout the programs, the facilitator explores topics such as vulnerability, courage, shame, and worthiness. Participants are invited to examine the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that are holding them back and identify the new choices and practices that will move them toward more authentic and wholehearted living. The primary focus is on developing shame resilience skills and developing daily practices that transform the way we live, love, parent, and lead.

I am a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator.  I offer workshops, intensives, and retreats on the Daring Way™ methodology such as Daring Greatly™, Rising Strong™ and The Gifts of Imperfection™ programs to individuals, couples, groups, mental health facilities, and mental health professionals.  I also incorporate the Daring Way™ methodology into individual psychotherapy sessions.  Contact me today to create a program that’s just right for your organization.

Here’s how Brené describes the progression of her work:

The Gifts of Imperfection – Be you.

Daring Greatly – Be all in.

Rising Strong – Fall. Get up. Try again.

Daring Greatly™ helps you identify where you want to show up, be seen and live brave.  It helps you to understand the powerful roles of courage, values, vulnerability, trust, self-compassion, empathy, authenticity and shame.  By exploring how shame works, the program helps you recognize when you feel it, determine what triggers it, and learn how to move through it quicker and with less misery. Dr. Brown writes, “Shame is the intensely painful feeling or experience that we are flawed and therefore unworthy of love and belonging.” The antidote to shame is replacing isolation with connection, and choosing to live with authenticity. That takes courage, but it can transform your life.

The RISING STRONG™ Program

Rising Strong™

The physics of vulnerability is simple:  If we are brave enough, often enough, we will fall.  Rising Strong™ is a program about what it takes to get back up and how owning our stories of struggle gives us the power to write a daring new ending.  Struggle can be our greatest call to courage and the clearest path to a wholehearted life.

Rising Strong is offered as an 8-week group running 2 hours per evening, a 2-day Weekend Retreat, or 2 full days (9-5pm) held one or two weeks apart.

Rising Strong™ as a Spiritual Practice

Rising Strong as a Spiritual Practice takes the concepts of the Rising Strong curriculum and applies them in a Spiritual setting.
Please contact me to learn more about Rising Strong™ as a Spiritual Practice.

Settings include retreat locations, yoga centers, places of workshop, women or men’s faith groups, and book groups.
