Telehealth THERAPY


Telehealth therapy is finally here! Psychotherapy and mental health services are delivered to you in a private location of your choice via your laptop, phone or tablet.  Confidential, economical, accessible, and convenient are some of the benefits of telehealth therapy.  No wonder many clients prefer it.  

Convenience means you can be in the comfort of your own space, no loss of time due to traffic, transportation problems, or physical mobility limitations.  Convenience also means not missing work or family responsibilities when time demands are crucial.  You can meet with me while traveling for business, vacation, or when you’re simply not available to meet in person.  It's perfect for busy professionals, stay at home parents and caregivers, and homebound clients.

Telehealth therapy allows us a unique opportunity to work together and fine tune things as they occur naturally in your life.  It makes it possible for us to work through challenges as they occur in real time. Telehealth therapy via an interactive platform greatly expands access to psychotherapy services that without technology would not be available to many people.

How does Telehealth Therapy work?

I provide therapy through a HIPAA compliant online interactive video platform encrypted to protect your privacy and confidentiality.  I currently see clients who are Connecticut residents and who travel and/or live Internationally.  I also will see clients who are residents in other U.S. states, but please contact me so I may first check out the telehealth laws specific to your state.

Is Telehealth Therapy effective?

There is a magnitude of research which demonstrates that participating in telehealth therapy is as effective as traditional office visits for a variety of concerns.

Does insurance cover Telehealth Therapy?

Many insurance companies do. Check with your specific provider for more details about the types of coverage they provide for online mental health therapy.  

What kind of internet service do I need?

As long as you have a reliable WiFi connection, and you are able to stream services like Netflix, or Hulu, then your internet connection is fast enough to participate in telehealth therapy.

Where do I have to be in order to participate in a session?

One of the awesome things about telehealth therapy is that you are able to participate in your therapy session wherever you feel comfortable.  As long as you have an internet connection, a computer, smartphone, iPAD, or tablet, you're all set as long as it has a camera.  I always encourage people to think about their own privacy and confidentiality as they choose when and where to hold sessions.
