Meet Ann….
Therapy to me is not only a career; it has been a life-long calling. As an empathic and effective Psychotherapist I am deeply passionate about supporting others to share their stories, understand their lives and create new choices using courage and self-compassion. After years in a corporate career, graduate business school and a fulfilling period of raising 4 children I finally had the opportunity to pursue my dreams. I returned to school to earn my Master degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Connecticut and am now a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or LCSW.
My experience includes both inpatient and outpatient treatment settings, as well as individual, couples and group work at Silver Hill Psychiatric Hospital, Yale Child Studies Outpatient Center for Children and Families, and Coastal Connecticut Counseling.
I am a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator and I lead programs for clients, organizations and Helping Professionals such as Daring Greatly™ and Rising Strong based on the best-selling author and researcher Dr. Brene Brown. These experiential and psycho-educational programs empower individuals to live their lives with greater vulnerability, courage and authenticity. I am trained in Couples Therapy from The Gottman Institute, and in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) from Behavioral Tech, LLC of Linehan Institute. I have been married for 27+ years to my husband and am a mother of four children.
